Race 4 – 7. Dashing Duchess @$4.80
Dashing Duchess kept kicking and made the winner work to beat her at Flemington last start. She’s a progressive staying mare that looks suited dropping in class and gets Mark Zahra on.
Morphettville
Race 2 – 7. The Golden Fist @$1.90
Should be decent speed in the big field of maidens. The Golden Fist is resuming off a long break but his only race start is good form for this. He trialled well here last week and is drawn nicely.
Race 4 – 2. Merchant Boss @$3.20
Just fair speed here which gives Rialtor a chance to control things. Merchant Boss was good last week at Murray Bridge when he hit the line strongly. He’s obviously hard and fit and the quick back-up should help him get the mile. In a moderate race I think he can be hard to beat.
Kembla Grange
Race 1 – 3. Imperial State @$2.60
Excellent trials leading into this and the stable have a big opinion of this horse. Should this horse live up to anywhere near that potential, he should put lengths on this field. Has shown good barrier speed at the trials, so would expect him to lead or sit leaders back from barrier 1. Barring any hiccups with race day manners, looks very hard to beat.
