#1. Elle Hudson @ $2.70 (neds) – Comes off a strong provincial victory and doesn’t appear to be taking a significant step up in class. Looks well placed to measure up again.
Race 5
#4. Champagne Hero @ $2.50 (neds) – Continues to improve this preparation and looks well suited from a good draw. The rider change is another positive and he shapes as a leading chance.
Race 6
#5. Rantan @ $4.80 (neds) – Finally draws a favourable gate and returns to her preferred 1000m. If she can reproduce her course proper form on the Kensington track, she’ll be right in the finish.
Sandown
Race 7
#14. Here’s Matilda @ $1.85 (neds) – Impressive on debut, producing the quickest closing sectionals of the meeting. The rise to 1400m looks ideal and she has the upside to go on with it.
Eagle Farm
Race 2
#8. Exceed The Sale @ $3.10 (neds) – Hit the line well on debut and looks suited by the rise in distance. A better draw and the claim only strengthen her chances.
Race 4
#3. Veomas @ $4.80 (neds) – Joins a new stable after showing enough at the trials to suggest he’s capable of breaking through. Likely to be strong late if he gets the right tempo.
Race 6
#4. Freeland @ $4.50 (neds) – Hasn’t raced much in the past year but looks to have more class than these. Trialled well leading in and should be hard to beat if the track allows runners to make ground.
