#6. Ice Kool @ $2.50 (neds) – Returns off the back of two strong trials and looked a quality type in his first preparation, winning two of three starts. The only blemish came in a $3 million race that’s easy enough to forgive. Looks very hard to beat fresh.
#3. Big Red Tequila @ $4.80 SAVER (neds) – Talented horse with plenty of upside and one worth saving on. Has always given the impression there are better races in store.
Flemington
Race 3
#1. Flying Done @ $5 (neds) – Chased home a handy one in Concord Connie first-up and should be fitter for that run. Handles wet ground and looks capable of taking another step forward here.
Race 5
#2. Duchess Zou @ $3.10 (neds) – Dominant winner at Sandown last start and gets conditions to suit again. Drawn perfectly to settle on speed and make her own luck.
Race 6
#4. Eloyou @ $5.50 (neds) – Improved nicely into the placings last start despite racing away from the winner. Fitter again now and should give a bold sight from up on the speed.
Race 8
#3. Siriusly Hot @ $9.50 / $3.30 EW (neds) – Expected to roll forward and make his presence felt. Faces pressure up front but looks capable of giving a strong sight stepping up in trip.
Race 9
#11. Markdel @ $7.50 / $2.35 EW (neds) – Has thrived since joining the Williams stable and produced excellent late splits first-up. The rise to 1200m suits and he looks capable of another big run.
Eagle Farm
Race 6
#1. Churchill’s Choice @ $4.80 / $2 EW (neds) – Maps beautifully with cover and should appreciate the long Eagle Farm straight. Her closing sectionals have been outstanding and she’ll be charging late.
Race 7
#12. King Zephyr @ $2.40 (neds) – Finished strongly into second at both runs this prep after getting well back. Eagle Farm looks ideal and the switch to Craig Williams is a positive.
Race 9
#8. Boomtown Boss @ $7.50 / $2.50 (neds) – Forget the last start where nothing went right. Blinkers appear to have sharpened him up and everything points to a peak third-up performance.
Morphettville
Race 2
#11. Australia Forever @ $3.70 (neds) – Looks the class runner of the race and her first-up effort last preparation came against stronger opposition than this. The main concern is the break between runs, but if she settles within striking distance, she’ll take plenty of beating.
Race 3
#2. La Roux @ $6.50 / $2.10 (neds) – Impressive fresh winner last campaign and recent jumpout form suggests she’s returned in great order. Drawn wide but should be finishing hard late.
Race 7
#12. Brave Star @ $6 / $2.25 (neds) – Proven wet tracker who gets conditions to suit. Drawn to enjoy a soft run just behind the speed and looks ready to peak.
Race 8
#4. Lingani @ $3.50 (neds) – Racing consistently and was excellent in the Proud Miss Stakes last start. Heavy ground is a major plus and she looks ideally placed.
