Race 4
#6. Pembrey @ $2 – Couldn’t have done more on debut, running time that stacked up against older horses on the card. Strong through the line and bred to get further, so 1200m won’t worry her. Draws to land in the right spot and gets J-Mac. Hard to knock.
Race 6
#4. Verona Rose @ $5.50 – Huge first-up run when posted wide without cover and still hit the line hard. Up to 1400m suits and she draws to get a far softer run. Big chance.
Race 7
#1. Tempted @ $1.65 – Dominant fresh and her rating there has her clearly on top. 1400m holds no fears and she looks to have this race at her mercy. Deserving short favourite and one for the multi’s.
Race 9
#9. Axius @ $5 – Closed off strongly on Magic Millions Day and gets a similar tempo to run at here. Better suited if the track softens and maps to get his chance again. Competitive race but he’s right in it.
Flemington
Race 1
#1. Harry Met Sally @ $22 / $4.40 – Trials have been encouraging and she arguably wins with even luck last start. There isn’t much between these city 2yo races and maiden form. Big odds appeal each-way.
Race 3
#2. Red Galaxy @ $7 / $2.05 – Strong first-up run before a plain effort second-up down the straight. Blinkers go on and his best form is good enough. If he bounces back, he’s well in this at the price.
Race 6
#1. Bel Merci @ $4.40 – Excellent from the back first-up for the new yard and should relish a strong tempo down the straight. Stays at 1100m and her closing speed makes her dangerous.
Race 8
#1. Observer @ $2.20 – Genuine class horse who should’ve won a Guineas and keeps improving. Impressive return win and now drops weight off that. Sets up beautifully and clearly the one to beat.
Race 9
#3. Alpha Sofie @ $2.20 – Good fresh win that rated well. This is deeper but she brings the right figures and can go on with it. Short enough, but hard to leave out.
Morphettville
Race 2
#8. Ramasis @ $2.50 – Worked home nicely on debut in a race that turned into a dash late. Extra trip looks ideal and he draws to get a good run. Natural improvement puts him right there.
Race 4
#4. Longer Route @ $2.60 – Looks to have turned the corner this prep and was dominant last start. Small rise in trip won’t hurt and he should roll forward in a small field. Hard to beat again.
Race 9
#3. Mercury Eight @ $7 / $2.25 – Honest before the short break and draws to suit any pattern on a likely rain-affected track. Shows early speed and the new jockey booking adds interest. Each-way value.

Race 1
#3. Cabaletto @ $4.20 – Progressive last prep and given time after climbing through the grades. Sharp recent trial suggests she’s come back well. Looks ready to improve again.
Race 3
#7. Written Acclaim @ $32 / $6 – Solid debut in a decent race and has trialled well since. Expecting improvement second-up and the odds are too big to ignore each-way.
Race 4
#9. Night Market @ $2.45 – Outstanding in a fast trial where he led and put them away. Likely to be on speed from a good yard and looks the one they have to run down.
