Ballarat
Race 4 – 5. Okesutora
Okesutora had blinkers applied and thrashed third placegetter Cuban Dawn in a fast maiden at Geelong. The way he stuck on off a fast speed putting a gap on the rest of the field over 1765m suggests the rise in distance should be OK.
Race 6 – 6. Desert Star
Desert Star looked unlucky not to win first up before disappointing market expectations second up when beaten as an odds-on favourite. He was five weeks between runs last start and might now be ideally suited third up to 1400m in what appears a weaker race.
Northam
Race 2 – 1. Allentown
Could not have loved his 400m trial any more. Jumped well, moved really nicely and pricked his ears at the line. 24.03 is really quick at lark hill on a s6. Think the raced brigade are pretty limited and while global trip also trialled nicely, he’s drawn the outside and think he’ll be better over further.
