Hooker –
Oliver Pascoe – 15.2% ownership
I was very tempted by Pascoe last week. I just wanted to see if Josh Hannay would go all in on him or still give Sam Verrills a stint. We have our answer, and Pascoe looks like a SuperCoach gun in the making. Running hookers are the ones you want to own, and Pascoe loves to run and also offload, which is SC gold. I’m all in on this bloke.
FRF –
Thomas Mikaele – 30.2% ownership
Underperformed last week in a game I thought he would thrive in. I wouldn’t be wasting a waiver on him, but if you need a FRF, I’d be going for someone who can bust tackles and likes to offload, and Mikaele fits the bill. Before the game against the Eels, he had a 5RA of 60 all in base power – he will do a job for you.
2RF –
Jermaine McEwen – 30% ownership
Not the sexiest option, but the Knights’ draw over the next 6 weeks is unreal. He’ll have some mediocre scores as he relies on attacking stats, but if played in the right matchups, he could go large and be an asset for your side.
Halfback –
Has been the same for the last few weeks – Jock Madden and Ronald Volkman have low ownership and are your best options if you need a halfback.
5/8 –
Heath Mason – 17.9% ownership
Slim pickings at 5/8 (as it has been for the whole year), however, Mason is the best option. Playing fullback and had solid base stats last week in a flogging at the hands of the Storm. Free agent pick up – not waiver worthy.
CTW
Ronaldo Mulitalo – 34.7% ownership
Ronaldo returns from an ACL injury this week and should be taken by the #1 waiver holder in every comp. He has been a stud of the CTW position in years gone by and even if you have a stacked CTW, he will be good trade bait to the bloke running duds – we all have that one guy in our league. If you’re looking ahead and play a round 24-26 finals system, the Sharks play the Raiders, Titans and Eels – juicy match-ups. Waiver of the week.
Fullback –
If you’re In need of a fullback I’d be trading with someone in your comp who’s got a spare because there just simply aren’t fullback options sitting on the waivers. I’d be running Heath Mason if a fullback is needed though.
