NRL Judiciary Report: Season Over For Murray After Downgrade Bid Fails.

Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray won’t play again this season after failing in his bid to have a Careless High Tackle charge downgraded at the judiciary on Tuesday night.

Murray pleaded guilty but was seeking a downgrade from Grade 2 to Grade 1 for the tackle on Newcastle’s Tyson Frizell that saw him sin binned at Accor Stadium on Saturday night.

The Rabbitohs skipper will miss the final two games of the regular season against the Panthers and the Roosters and a third match yet to be determined.

Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton and Manly’s Corey Waddell will miss Friday night’s blockbuster between their two sides after copping bans for incidents in Round 25.

Crichton has been suspended for one match for his tackle on Warriors centre Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and will be back on deck for the Round 27 clash against the Cowboys.

Waddell has been banned for two matches after pleading guilty to a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle on Wests Tigers winger Solomon Alaimalo. He will return for the opening week of the finals.

Meanwhile, Roosters veteran Jared Waerea-Hagreaves has been suspended for three matches after entering an early guilty plea to a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge.

In his first game back from a four-match ban for the same offence, Waerea-Hargreaves was sent to the sin bin for the hit on Titans hooker Sam Verrills.

He will miss the final two regular season games and the Roosters’ first final.

Fellow Roosters Victor Radley (Careless High Tackle) and Daniel Tupou (Careless High Tackle) have been fined $3000 and $1000 respectively after entering early guilty pleas to their charges.

Sharks centre Jesse Ramien will miss his side’s Round 26 clash against the Warriors after accepting a one-match ban for a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle offence on Dragon Mat Feagai.

Manly prop Taniela Paseka has pleaded guilty to a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle for his role in the same hit and will pay a $1000 fine. Team-mate Haumole Olakau’atu has also taken the early guilty plea after being hit with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge. It is his third offence for the season and he will pay a $3000 fine.

Panthers pair Mavrik Geyer (Dangerous Contact) and Trent Toelau (Contrary Conduct) have been fined after pleading guilty to charges arising from their loss to the Raiders on Saturday while Knights debutant Sebastian Su’a has pleaded guilty to a Careless High Tackle and been fined $1000.

Warriors prop Addin Fonua-Blake has been $1000 fine for Dangerous Contact and his teammate Jazz Tevaga was also fined $1000 after entering an early guilty plea for the same offence.

Broncos forward Brendan Piakura was charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact offence following the win over the Eels and has been fined $1800 with an early guilty plea.

Eels prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard has been fined $1000 for Dangerous Contact.
