Round 14 is here, so lets take a look at popular buys and sells across the Origin period.
Buy
Xavier Coates
Averaging 73 for the season and has a BE of -17. Coates has better base this year than he has in seasons gone, averaging 49 in base and evasive stats. When you consider that he then has 10 tries on top of this, you can see how he manages to rack up points so effortlessly. Plays origin and therefore is a bit of a headache over the Origin period, however has already been rested so would expect him to play all games that the Storm do from here. Seems now or never before his price gets out of reach.
Lehi Hopoate
Priced at $676,000, Lehi has a 3RA of 98.7 & 5RA of 73.2. A few ideal fixtures to come in the Knights, Titans & Tigers look like great games to target.
Nathan Cleary
The best halfback in Supercoach. BUY
KL Iro
This man just can’t stop scoring. He has scored in every game this year, and while that likely has to stop at some point, he has gone to a new level in 2025. Averaging 82.1 and covers both major bye rounds to come, KL is an easy trade in.
Lyhkan King-Togia
If you still own Tom Duffy like I do, it is very tempting to move him onto King-Togia this week. Plays the Dolphins this week, and then he covers the two major bye rounds to come. If he can manage a big score over the next few weeks, his cash generation restarts which would be an added bonus.
Jacob Kiraz
In typical Kiraz fashion, he has been named to return from injury early. He has a huge BE and likely drops cash, but at this stage of the season I am prioritising points over cash generation. No qualms if you prefer to wait a week though. Covers the next two major byes.
Jayden Campbell
Campbell has been named at fullback in the absence of Kini, Brimson & de Groot. I love this for his scoring due to the extra work he will get through. Covers the two major bye rounds and only leaves Qld in one fixture before Round 20. I think he is a top 2 option at 5/8 and therefore a set and forget keeper in sides.
Hold
James Tedesco
The best fullback in Supercoach. Hold for the season.
Sandon Smith
Still think he has a low score in him, but its just so hard to get excited about making a trade at Hooker this season. I don’t mind the strategy of holding him all season with the new addition of the FLEX player, as the Hooker score will often be the one to drop out.
Savelio Tamale
This man just keeps delivering for owners. Averaging 56 in base and evasive stats, his floor is fantastic for a CTW. He has now scored less than 55 in 1 of his last 7 fixtures and isn’t reliant on scoring a try to put up a decent score. Has an ideal fixture in the final bye round (18) and is worth a hold at this point.
Sell
Selwyn Cobbo
Has been dropped. Sell
Mitch Barnett
ACL injury and will miss the remainder of 2025. Sell
Robert Toia
Has done his job for owners, banking a whopping $410,000. He now misses Rounds 14, 15, 17 & 18. Sell to either Iro or Kiraz.
Billy Smith
Still provides some bye coverage, however his scores aren’t overly exciting and he now misses 2 of the next 4 rounds. There are better options around and I prefer a sale.
