NRL Round 5 SuperCoach: Buy - Hold - Sell

BUY – HOLD – SELL:

BUY:

Tom Jenkins – Lock him into your side. $215k with a BE of -94 and now has some job security with Brian To’o sidelined for a month. Would expect he makes over 200k in the next 3 rounds and is a viable play option in your 17.

Lachlan Hubner – An easy one if you are a non-owner. Set to play his third game of the season and has a BE of -25. Will be a slow burn, however he is favoured by Bennett and seems to be safe for a 45-55 score most weeks if you need a number.

Reece Walsh – Has bottomed out nicely and is now available for the low price of $606. You can wait another week if you like as his price isn’t likely to change much thanks to his BE of 76, however I get the feeling things are about to click very soon for Walsh & the Broncos. Combinations have seemed a little off but will click soon. Upcoming fixtures are pretty good, with games against the Tigers, Roosters and Warriors in the next 3.

Payne Haas – Again, Payne Haas is HIM. If you haven’t been listening every week, don’t make the same mistake again. Get him into your side!

Ryan Papenhuyzen – Whispers around that Papenhuyzen may resume the kicking duties this week, which would be excellent for his Supercoach appeal. Now priced at $675k, he is a buy this week or next as price shouldn’t change much (BE 77).

Addin Fonua-Blake – Did someone say year of the FRF? Big AFB is averaging 70 across the opening month and only has 1 try to his name. He has elite base and elite scoring potential for a forward. At $666k, he is definitely worth consideration in the next week or two.

Jayden Campbell – Has started the season very strongly, with a 75.3 average across his 3 games. The Titans have points in them, and JC will be heavily involved in their attacking raids. A strong consideration for those Supercoaches wanting to move on Metcalf due to the bye. Much prefer him at 5/8, however he is a decent buy at fullback if you have a plan to move him up in the coming weeks.

HOLD:

Harry Grant – Has dropped some cash now and I would just hold. He still likely ends up being the highest averaging hooker, so wouldn’t bother using a trade on him at this point. Melbourne’s run also softens up after this weekend, so attacking stats might not be too far away.

Jesse Arthars – Over 12,000 coaches have traded out Arthars this week. While I can understand some will be reluctant sales to bring in Jenkins, a BE of 50 with a matchup against the Tigers screams hold to me. A good play in your 17, assuming he continues to get attacking stats.

SELL:

Keano Kini/Kayal Iro/Brian To’o/Tom Trbojevic – All out injured and too valuable to hold throughout the respective recoveries. Sell.

Jarome Luai – Shocking start to the season from a Supercoach perspective. Suspended this round and has already dropped huge cash, however I lean towards a Sell as the Tigers seem to be looking to Galvin more in attacking scenarios. 1 try assist in 4 games against weaker NRL sides isn’t enough output from the $1.4m man so would be steering clear until we see that change.
