VC Options
Nathan Cleary – Cleary returns from concussion with a juicy matchup against the Cowboys (who have conceded more points to halfbacks than any other team in 2025) With dry conditions expected, Cleary could go ballistic in the early kickoff on Friday night.
James Tedesco – Teddy lines up against the old enemy – South Sydney. Tedesco has looked really good and has been pivotal to the Roosters attack in the early rounds of the season. On top of this, South Sydney have conceded more points to fullbacks than any other team in 2025. Conditions look good in Sydney for this weekend which should be conducive to Supercoach scoring.
Clint Gutherson – the most ideal of ideal fixtures. Day game on a dry track against the worst team in the competition. On top of this, there is added narrative with King Gutho playing against his old team. He will be absolutely everywhere and involved in everything positive that the Dragons throw at the Eels. Parramatta have conceded the 2nd most points to fullbacks in 2025.
Christian Tuipulotu – similar to above – the most ideal of ideal fixtures. Day game on a dry track against the worst team in the competition Parramatta have conceded the most points to CTW in 2025 and really struggle to defend both wings. With Dragons being so left dominant, Tuipulotu could be in for a field day.
C Options
Payne Haas – the safe and unsexy option. However, if you’d just captained Haas religiously each week you’d probably be faring way better on C selections. A nod to the days where the only Supercoach decision to make was whether to captain Paul Gallen or Corey Parker.
Ryan Papenhuyzen – a bit more of a rogue selection and one I would only really consider if he had the added bonus of goal kicking. Manly looked in second gear last week and were there for the taking. Unfortunately, Parramatta weren’t good enough to capitalise but Melbourne will be if they have another off day. One for the risk takers.
