Panthers vs Rabbitohs – CommBank Stadium
Penrith head into this clash on the back of consecutive defeats, an unfamiliar position for the reigning premiers. South Sydney, meanwhile, continue to build momentum after another convincing performance against Parramatta and have quietly emerged as one of the competition’s form sides. Even with the Panthers capable of responding at any time, the Rabbitohs have shown enough consistency to edge this one out with no real confidence here.

Dragons vs Wests Tigers – St George Venues Jubilee Stadium
The Dragons have shown encouraging signs in recent weeks but have struggled to maintain their intensity across the full 80 minutes. The Tigers pushed Newcastle all the way last round and will be disappointed not to have come away with the competition points after letting their opportunities slip. With both sides searching for consistency, expect a hard-fought contest where experienced strike players could prove the difference in key moments.

Broncos vs Sharks – Suncorp Stadium
Brisbane’s season has continued to unravel with seven straight defeats, but returning home provides an opportunity to reset despite several key Origin absentees. Cronulla also have questions to answer after their heavy loss to the Roosters before the bye and cannot afford another disappointing performance if they’re to remain genuine premiership contenders. The Sharks deserve favouritism, but the Broncos still have enough quality to make this a much tighter contest than recent form suggests.

Eels vs Sea Eagles – CommBank Stadium
Manly bounced back in impressive fashion with a dominant win over Melbourne, although they’ll need to cover the loss of Luke Brooks along with several Origin representatives. Parramatta also lose key personnel and will be eager to respond after a disappointing defeat to South Sydney, but hard to see them putting on points in this one.

Knights vs Dolphins – McDonald Jones Stadium
Newcastle were far from convincing against the Tigers but still managed to bank an important two competition points. The Dolphins, meanwhile, continued their outstanding season with another impressive victory despite ongoing representative disruptions. Both sides will again be forced to adjust due to Origin, creating plenty of uncertainty around this contest. Newcastle’s home advantage keeps them firmly in the game, but it’s difficult to have a strong betting opinion either way.
