Warwick Farm
Race 1
#1. Scrumptious @ $3.50 – Drops back to maiden grade today after running less than 1L second in a much stronger race than this. Draws perfectly from barrier 1 to lead this field and keeps T Clark. There’s a few first starters in this race that have shown ability at the trials, but trusting the raced form here and think she breaks her maiden today. 3rd up at 1200m looks perfect.
Race 2
#1. Hidden Motive @ $2.50 – Only ever start was in black type and the trials leading into this have looked sensational. Draws wide, but has the speed to cross these and either lead, or sit just off the speed. Another race with a few first starters, but don’t think they have the same ability.
Race 5
#10. Metallic Ruler @ $12 – Open race this so looking to play something at odds. Loved that last win at Wyong, and although this is harder, this looks more than winnable. Draws low in barrier 3 to have options in run, and $12 looks a great price.
Race 7
#1. Deprivation @ $9 – First up today on the back of an excellent last prep. Loved the trials leading into this, and best form is first up having won 4 from 6. Another one that draws low to have options in run, and gets a smart claim with Osmond taking the ride.
Balaklava
Race 3
#5. Ginger Sinner @ $2.50 – First up run was enormous and loved the way he hit the line. Will be better for that run, and love the draw from barrier 4 to hopefully sit 1-1.
Race 8
#2. The Golden Fist @ $3.50 – Slight drop back in grade and has been running well this prep without getting the chocolates. Maps well here just off the speed, and is at peak fitness here at the mile.
Caulfield Heath
Race 4
#7. Shehungthemoon @ $2.60 – Filly gets all the map favours today and should control from the front which is an advantage over the 1000m at this track. She gets a positive jockey change and will look a good thing coming down the straight.
