With the main meetings having taken place on Monday, we’ve found a few at Doomben and Geelong that look hard to beat.
Doomben
Race 1
#2. Fire and Light @ $2.90 – Been racing well all prep without much luck, including the last two starts running 2nd with small margins. Draws perfectly here in barrier 6 and maps to get a great run in transit. Think he goes close today to no longer be a maiden.
Race 2
#1. Starsonus @ $2.20 – Been hitting the line well in recent starts and think the step up in distance suits this horse. The wide barrier with a 10m rail isn’t ideal, but if he can overcome that, has to go close here. Maloney sticks.
Geelong
Race 3
#10. Impish Lady @ $2 – Plenty of merit in her last campaign. Love the jump outs leading into this, draws well, and gets the services of Shinn first up for the Bedggood stable. Draws well for a lovely run in transit and this looks a great kicking off point.
Race 5
#14. Dancing Dolly @ $1.80 – Hit the line well first up and gets over longer distance today. She’s been knocking on the door all five starts and this looks the perfect race to break her maiden. Draws well in barrier 3 to lead this field and be hard to run down.
