Our NRL betting tips for Round 16 of the NRL cover every game with best bets, totals and predictions across the full weekend schedule.
Knights vs Dragons – McDonald Jones Stadium
Newcastle showed plenty of fight against Melbourne despite falling just short, while the Dragons head north looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat to Cronulla. St George Illawarra have produced some strong performances this season but have struggled to back them up consistently. The Knights have been building steadily at home and, with confidence growing in their attacking spine, look well placed to create enough opportunities to come away with an important win.
Suggested Bets: Sharpe Anytime Tryscorer / Hunt Anytime Tryscorer / Holmes Anytime Tryscorer @ $13.43 (neds)
Wests Tigers vs Dolphins – Campbelltown Sports Stadium
The Tigers finally returned to the winner’s circle last week, although they made life harder than it needed to be against the Titans. The Dolphins, meanwhile, barely skipped a beat despite several Origin absentees, producing an impressive display against the Roosters. With representative players backing up and not much value on paper, no bet.
Suggested Bet: No bet.
Titans vs Panthers – Cbus Super Stadium
Gold Coast again showed their attacking potential last week, but defensive lapses continue to undermine their good work. Penrith return from the bye refreshed and remain one of the competition’s benchmark teams, even if they choose to manage some Origin stars. On paper the Panthers deserve favouritism, but finding it difficult to find enough value in the current market.
Suggested Bet: No bet.
Bulldogs vs Sea Eagles – Accor Stadium
Both sides come into this clash fresh after the bye, but the return of Tom Trbojevic gives Manly an enormous boost. The Doggies struggle to attack and the Sea Eagles possess far more strike across the park.
Suggested Bet: Trbojevic Anytime Tryscorer / Olakau’atu Anytime Tryscorer / Xerri Anytime Tryscorer / Under 57.5 @ $31.87 (neds)
Warriors vs Cowboys – One NZ Stadium
Both teams have plenty to prove after disappointing performances before the bye. The Warriors have been difficult to trust from week to week despite their strong home record, while North Queensland remain capable of matching the competition’s best when they find their rhythm. Expect a physical contest with momentum likely to swing throughout, and don’t be surprised if the Cowboys keep themselves in the contest deep into the second half.
Suggested Bets: Cowboys +10.5 @ $1.78 (neds)
Storm vs Raiders – AAMI Park
Melbourne continue to build wins and return home full of confidence after another composed performance before the bye. Canberra, on the other hand, have endured a difficult fortnight and will need a significant turnaround after consecutive disappointing losses. The Storm rarely let struggling sides off the hook at AAMI Park and look well placed to dictate proceedings through the middle.
Suggested Bets: Storm -8.5 @ $1.90 (neds)
Roosters vs Sharks – Allianz Stadium
This shapes as one of the games of the round, although much will depend on how both clubs manage their returning Origin players. Cronulla produced an outstanding win over the Warriors, while the Roosters will be eager to respond after a disappointing performance against the Dolphins. Both sides have the quality to win if close to full strength, making this a fascinating contest but one that’s difficult to find genuine betting value in.
Suggested Bets: No bet.
