Race 1
#3. Sarapo @ $4.20 – Showed ability last prep and now returns gelded, which should help him settle. Kept ticking over at the trials and the rise to 1400m suits first-up. Maps for a soft run near the speed and looks well placed.
Strathalbyn
Race 2
#9. Uptown Monk @ $1.80 – Had support on debut in a tougher Saturday maiden and wasn’t suited when the race turned into a sprint home. Fitter for that and drops into a slightly easier race here. Maps to be handy and looks the one to beat.
Race 3
#3. Flying Assassin @ $5.50 – Hasn’t won for a while but he’s been finishing off well and looks close to another. Chased hard into second behind Warrandyte Road at Gawler last week after getting back, and the quick turnaround keeps him at peak fitness. Proven at this track and trip and gets his chance.
Race 4
#5. Joviale @ $2.80 – Broke through in good style at Gawler last start. That might’ve been a peak run but if he holds that level he can win again in this grade.
