Sam Kerr’s off the hook – cleared of racially aggravated harassment in London on March 1 after that “stupid white” sledge at a cop back in ‘23. Aussie women are losing their minds, slapping “hero” and “queen” tags on her like she’s just won us a World Cup single-handed. I’m not swallowing it – this is pure hypocrisy, and it’s laughable. She’s getting away with shit no bloke could dream of, and it’s about time someone said it straight.
Let’s rewind to that night. Kerr’s smashed, chucks up in a cab, and the driver – reasonably – wants her to pay for the mess. She’s not having it. She and Mewis kick off, refuse to cough up, and Kerr smashes the window, spinning some tale about being “hostages”. Cops rock up, and she lets rip at PC Lovell: “fucking stupid and white”, not once but twice. It’s not witty – it’s a lazy racial jab from a footy star who should know better.
The jury cut her loose, and honestly, I’m fine with that – free speech should mean you can be a loudmouth without a prison cell, and the UK’s laws are a nanny-state shitshow. But don’t kid yourself – not guilty doesn’t mean she’s innocent. She acted like a spoiled prat, and instead of copping flak, she’s getting garlands. If a bloke – think Kyrgios or Latrell Mitchell – pulled this stunt and dropped a racial barb, he’d be done. Kerr? It’s “oh, she was drunk”, “it’s not a big deal”. Swap “white” for any other race, and she’s toast – no ifs, no buts.
The double standard’s choking me. She’s not some battler fighting the system – she’s a minted athlete who threw a tantrum at a working copper. Yet Aussie women, who’d normally torch a man for less, are bending over backwards to defend her. Where’s the “call out racism” mob now? Oh, right – too busy polishing her halo. This isn’t a win for equality; it’s a free pass because she’s their golden girl. She’s no hero – she was a drunk embarrassment who dodged the bullet she deserved to catch.
