Best Options for the Week
Siosifa Talakai (2RF/CTW) – 6% ownership
I was keen on Hiroti last week, who unfortunately went down with a calf injury. Thankfully for us, an even better option has emerged. Talakai is a beast, the dual position is very handy, and he has extreme upside when playing at centre, as we’ve seen in the past. I’m all in on Talakai this week.
Jeral Skelton (CTW) – 28% ownership
I can’t believe this guy is so low-owned. Just get him in your side, people. Great depth for your bench and also an option to play when a good match-up pops up, or at the very least, some trade bait.
Kurt Donoghoe (HOK) – 28% ownership
He was on my watch list last week and has now sold me. A great option at hooker and definitely waiver-worthy. He’ll play big minutes in the middle with Kafusi suspended, on top of their already big injury list in the forwards. Almost a certainty to get dual position in Round 18 as well.
Josiah Karapani (CTW) – 4% ownership
Quite keen on this fella too. Burst onto the scene two weeks ago with an 88 against the Titans. Yes, the Titans were dog shit, so I’m not expecting the world, but the fact he’s playing on the left, which has seen Jesse Arthars score plenty of meat pies, and the return of Reece Walsh, who is a great ball player, ticks all the boxes!
Free Agent Pick-ups / One-Week Plays
Alofiana Khan-Pereira (CTW) – Try-scoring machine up against a Mitch Moses-less Eels. Say no more.
Jack Bostock (CTW) – I know it screams “chasing last week’s points”, but how can you deny this Dolphins attack at the moment? Favourable match-up against the Knights/Dom Young.
Tyran Wishart (5/8 / HB) – I know he’s named on the bench, but I can see Bellamy resting Cameron Munster this week. I’d be keeping my ear to the ground with this one because Souths are shit, and if he starts, he’s a great pick-up.
