Check out our team list analysis for Round 17!

Panthers vs Bulldogs – Thursday 7:50PM (AEDT) at CommBank Stadium

Panthers

The Panthers origin contingent all make returns to clubland this week, after missing last week’s game. Sorensen is suspended, which sees Papali’i shift to the edge. Brad Schneider and Luke Garner move to the bench.

Bulldogs

Stephen Crichton, Kurt Mann, Max King & Matt Burton all return for the table topping Bulldogs. Jacob Kiraz moves one spot over and takes his usual place on the right wing. Lachlan Galvin returns to the bench.

SuperCoach Analysis

The Panthers are starting to put a few performances together which comes at a good time as they need to keep winning. There are a few players that I have my eye on for the run home, including Talagi, To’o & Cleary for obvious reasons. However, I will be waiting until after the Round 18 bye before making any trades.

Kiraz, Kikau & Preston are all great options moving forward as the Dogs have no remaining byes in 2025.

Sea Eagles vs Wests Tigers – Friday 6:00PM (AEDT) at 4 Pines Park

Sea Eagles

In the worst kept secret of recent times, Tom Trbojevic has been named at centre, with Lehi Hopoate at fullback. This sees Reuben Garrick slide to the wing, replacing Jason Saab who has been dropped. Olakau’atu is out with a shoulder injury, seeing Corey Waddell win the starting back row spot. Jazz Tevaga is back at hooker, with Lachlan Croker missing due to concussion protocols.

Wests Tigers

Heath Mason will play fullback for the injured Jahream Bula. Luai will start at five-eighth with Latu Fainu in the #7 jersey.

SuperCoach Analysis

It remains to be seen whether this helps Trbojevic’s output, though he has looked busted for weeks. I am holding at this stage due to lost cash, without any real confidence. Garrick to the wing could result in more attacking stats, whereas the move is a big tick for Lehi Hopoate owners. Daly Cherry-Evans is very cheap if you’re looking for a cut price halfback for the run home.

Latu Fainu has the potential to be very Supercoach relevant, however is very unlikely to gain dual status in the Round 18 update. Tallyn Da Silva returning on the bench will not be welcome news for Koroisau owners.

Knights vs Raiders – Friday 8:00PM (AEDT) at McDonald Jones Stadium

Knights

Jackson Hastings comes in for Fletcher Sharpe, who has ruptured his spleen and lacerated his kidney in an awkward tackle last week. Jacob Saifiti has returned from injury, which sees Mat Croker move to the bench. Marzhew remains amongst the reserves as he looks to return from injury.

Raiders

Hudson Young has been rested, with Simi Sisagi taking his spot on the left edge. Noah Martin comes onto the bench.

SuperCoach Analysis

Dylan Lucas remains a premium option, as does Bradman Best who continues to put up great scores and is averaging over 70.

Canberra have an amazing run home, however have the bye in Round 19 so you’ll need to be mindful of numbers for that week. Tom Starling, Joe Tapine & Hudson Young are the obvious targets here.

Broncos vs Warriors – Saturday 3:00PM (AEDT) at Suncorp Stadium

Broncos

Broncos are 1-17 after their impressive second half vs the Sharks last week. Selwyn Cobbo still remains outside the playing 17 as he looms closer to an exit from Brisbane. Ben Hunt remains sidelined.

Warriors

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is out with an ankle injury, which sees Ed Kosi return to the starting side. Rocco Berry returns from a hamstring injury to take his place in the centres. Kurt Capewell returns to the starting side, moving Leka Halasima to the bench.

SuperCoach Analysis

Josiah Karapani is set to make huge cash, with a BE of -85. With Selwyn Cobbo on the outer, and the Broncos covering Rounds 18 & 19 I can certainly make a case for a purchase. Outside this, Payne Haas is the obvious Broncos target, putting up another ton despite carrying a groin injury. Reece Walsh could be worth a punt for the risk takers.

It is puzzling to me why Leka Halasima has been moved to the bench, even though I am a fan of Jacob Laban also. The Warriors have a good run home during head to head finals, so I am keeping an eye on Tuivasa-Sheck, Egan & Erin Clark.

Dragons vs Eels – Saturday 5:30PM (AEDT) at WIN Stadium

Dragons

Corey Allan & Christian Tuipulotu return from injury, while Valentine Holmes returned from Origin duty. Jaydn Su’a also returns in the back row.

Eels

Dylan Brown returns from suspension, which sees Joash Papali’i move to the bench. Jordan Samrani starts at centre, replacing the suspended Will Penisini. Ryley Smith has been suspended for two weeks, which sees Joey Lussick again start at hooker.

SuperCoach Analysis

Not much Supercoach interest at the Dragons.

Isaiah Iongi & Zac Lomax have done enough to show they are genuine Supercoach options, though Iongi will have to be moved to a premium option for the run home at some point. Lomax is a weapon, posting another 80 on the weekend with strong base as always.

Dolphins vs Rabbitohs – Saturday 7:50PM (AEDT) at Suncorp Stadium

Dolphins

Jack Bostock has unfortunately ruptured his ACL, which sees Junior Tupou come into the side. Josh Kerr returns on the bench.

Rabbitohs

Campbell Graham returns at centre, moving Euan Aitken back to his usual spot in the back row. Cody Walker returns in the halves, which sees Jack Wighton move back to centre. Peter Mamouzelos returns from his elbow injury to take a spot on the bench.

Supercoach Analysis

What more can I say about my main man Herbie Farnworth. The man is a machine. Plenty of Supercoach relevance at the Dolphins, with Donoghue, Katoa, Nikorima, Farnworth, Isaako & Tabuai-Fidow all offering some appeal across Classic & Draft competitions.

Keaon Koloamatangi surprised everyone by playing last week and remains the premium choice to target at the Bunnies. Latrell Mitchell comes into calculations post Origin.

Storm vs Sharks – Sunday 2:00PM (AEDT) at AAMI Park

Storm

Xavier Coates returns after being rested again in Round 16, which sees Grant Anderson move to centres with Howarth missing through illness. Utoikamanu and Loiero return to the starting side after coming off the bench last week.

Sharks

Oregon Kaufusi returns to the starting side, with Braden Hamlin-Uele moving to the bench.

Supercoach Analysis

Usual suspects appeal here. Harry Grant is a consideration post origin, though I am still wanting to see more from him before I can justify using a trade at hooker.

Briton Nikora appears to be hitting form at the right time of year, now boasting a 3RA of 92 and 5RA of 70.

Titans vs Cowboys – Sunday 4:05PM (AEDT) at CBus Super Stadium

Titans

Tom Weaver slots in at halfback, replacing Jayden Campbell who misses this round due to concussion protocols. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui returns to the starting side at lock, which Klese Haas returning to the bench.

Cowboys

Jake Clifford has been named to start in the #6 jersey, which sees Jaxson Purdue move back to centre. Reece Robson and Reuben Cotter return from Origin duty.

Supercoach Analysis

Tino and Jayden Campbell are the Supercoach guns that are currently playing at the Titans. Minimal interest in others at this stage (until David Fifita eventually returns)

The Jake Clifford move is a good one in my opinion, as I don’t think he should have been dropped in the first place. Drinkwater, Dearden & Jeremiah Nanai are all considerations on the run home.
