Hooker
I’m going to be quite frank here—if you need a hooker, don’t bother. You’re better off running an AE than wasting a spot on Cory Paix, Mitch Kenny, Phoenix Crossland, etc. Instead, find a CTW or 2RF with a good match-up and chase the upside.
FRF
I feel the same way about front rowers as I do hookers. I’d recommend the AE play here too. That said, one to keep an eye on is big Thomas Hazelton. Addin Fonua-Blake left the field last week with an injury. While he’s been named to play, keep a close eye on late mail and team lists. Hazelton could be a handy late-week free agent pick-up—no waiver required.
2RF
Dylan Egan is probably the waiver pick-up of the week. He played 79 minutes last round, only coming off in the last minute with an injury—but he’s since been cleared to play. I expect he’ll move into the starting side again like last week. He rotated between the middle and the edge and had outstanding base stats. He notched up 76 points in base power alone and showed he can cross the stripe too, running a brilliant line on the left edge. Definitely worth using a high waiver on.
Kelma Tuilagi is also worth a shout. He’s back in the side after a Barry Crocker in round one. With the big news that Mitchell Moses is named to return this week, surely Parra improve? Surely?
Halfback / 5/8
Even God himself couldn’t help you too much here, unfortunately. The AE tactic is criminally underrated in draft and should absolutely be used if you’re forced to start someone like Toby Sexton.
CTW
Mawene Hiroti just keeps finding the try-line and should be owned in way more leagues than he is. Currently sitting at 23.3% ownership, there are plenty of teams that can still snap him up this week. With Kayal Iro at least two weeks away and a game against the Knights—who have been a disgrace—he’s a quality pick-up this round.
Sua Fa’alogo starts on the wing for Melbourne this weekend. While it’s unlikely to be a long-term gig, he’s an absolute freak and worth owning any time he’s named.
Fullback
Taine Tuaupiki gets the start at fullback this weekend, with Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad out under concussion protocols. It’ll likely just be a one-week play, but if you’re in need of a fullback, he’s probably your best option.

Jackson Ford could be a good option too with the fish going down
Yeah Jackson Ford is a good option if he’s sitting in your leagues waiver wire or free agents. Dual is handy too.
