Round 8 is here, so lets take a look at popular buys and sells across the Supercoach landscape.
BUY:
Billy Smith – Priced at $317,200 with a BE of -56 and is projected to make approaching 150k over the next two weeks. Job security looks good, however he has historically been an injury risk throughout his career. Upcoming fixtures are against the Dragons and Dolphins which is appealing.
Greg Marzhew – Has just broken to Supercoach record for most tackle busts in a game with 21, Marzhew looks to be getting closer to his best despite the Knights not putting on many points. At $578,800 and with a huge score in his rolling average, this is likely the cheapest Big Greg will be for a while. Averaging 73 for the season with only 2 tries shows he has a great floor for a CTW.
Herbie Farnworth – Herbie is averaging 73 for the season with only 2 tries to his name. Pure base average of 40, plus elite offloading and tackle busting ability is a dangerous concoction for Supercoach. Even without attacking stats, you’re likely to see a 60+ score from the Englishman. Dolphins seem to be starting to click, and if Farnworth can cross the line a tad more, he might even be undervalued at $700,700. Can’t believe he is only owned by 8% of teams.
Jacob Kiraz – As per above. Herbie Farnworth and Jacob Kiraz have scarily similar output and can be viewed the same in Supercoach circles. I slightly lean Kiraz though as he plays in a better side and is on the wing, therefore is more likely to cross the white stripe for a meat pie. Kiraz is also a POD option, owned by 8% of teams just like his English brother in Redcliffe.
Mark Nawaqanitawase – Priced at $545,000 and now playing on the wing, Marky Mark could be a great POD option. Averaging 66 for the season and has a BE of 28, I am backing him to get some attacking stats for the Roosters. 7% ownership is a bonus.
HOLD:
Latrell Mitchell – Latrell is back to his favoured Fullback position after being eased back in via centre and then covering injuries in the halves. I expect his output to increase dramatically now and he is again an elite option in Supercoach. 3% ownership is fantastic for owners.
Eli Katoa – Bit of a down week, however still has a 3RA of 67.7 and therefore is a hold. Melbourne can put points on anyone and Katoa is an obvious player that you’ll want over the bye period and for the run home.
Kalyn Ponga – Now under 600k, Ponga just has to be held as all his value has dropped. I have fears around the Knights attacking output and Ponga’s involvement, however with some attractive fixtures to come, he is a hold.
Nicho Hynes – Has dropped bulk cash now and is still averaging 66 so worth holding until he comes good. I am not convinced the Sharks can continue with current structures so something will have to change soon, and Hynes could be the big beneficiary there.
SELL:
Reece Walsh – Out for 4-6 weeks.
Gehamat Shibasaki – Has made his money, and now has a BE of 50. Upgrade to a gun, or sell to another cheapie and keep that cash generation going.
Dom Young – Has lost his place in first grade. Might not be a long term dropping, however too much cash to have sitting on the pine at this stage of the season.
Jayden Campbell – Out for 3-5 weeks.
Harry Grant – Out for another 2 weeks.
Christian Tuipulotu – Out for 4-5 weeks.
