Our NRL betting tips for Round 5 cover every game with best bets, totals and predictions across the full weekend schedule.

Dolphins vs Sea Eagles – Kayo Stadium

Manly could rally the troops with the old coach gone. If the poor form continues then the players will be held accountable and the squad should know this. Expect a better showing from Manly here.

Suggested Bet: Sea Eagles +10.5 @ 1.90 (neds)

Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs – Accor Stadium

Souths are fresh off a bye while the Bulldogs are coming off one of their poorest efforts for some time. Expect the Bulldogs defence to improve from what they showed last week but their attack is still a major problem. It’s hard to take the Bulldogs in this one but they could bounce back. It’s difficult to be confident either way.

Suggested Bet: No bet.

Panthers vs Storm – CommBank Stadium

Melbourne are in an unfamiliar position of facing 3 losses on the trot if they taste defeat this round while Penrith look a class above any other side. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bellamy can get his players to have a positive reaction this week but it might not be enough against such a formidable side. In any case the line looks about right.

Suggested Bet: No bet.

Dragons vs Cowboys – St George Venues Jubilee Stadium

The Dragons will be desperate in this one while North QLD might be vulnerable for a let down game after the highs of beating Melbourne last week. Dragons have been competitive enough but just haven’t had the points in them when games have been on the line. North QLD haven’t been reliable defensively for a while so the Dragons might find this to be the match up they need to break their duck.

Suggested Bet: Dragons +2.5 @ 1.90

Titans vs Broncos – Cbus Super Stadium

Gold Coast v Brisbane looks a bit of a mismatch on paper but the Titans have actually fared fairly well against Brisbane in recent times. In spite of this it’s difficult to take the Titans line with much confidence. Hard to find value in this one.

Suggested Bet: No bet.

Sharks vs Warriors – Ocean Protect Stadium

Warriors were brought back to earth last week on their own patch but I think Metcalf should be better for the run. Meanwhile Sharks had a good win in Canberra but are still likely to be without Nikora. This has the potential to be a bounce back game for the Warriors who have been impressive apart from the one blip last week.

Suggested Bet: Warriors +4.5 @1.90 (neds)

Knights vs Raiders – McDonald Jones Stadium

If someone told you before the season that one of these teams would be a win off the lead while another would be a win off the bottom at this stage of the season you wouldn’t assume it would be Newcastle flying and Canberra on struggle Street but that is where we currently are. Newcastle without Ponga and Dylan Brown taught the Bulldogs a lesson with an impressive performance. Canberra have had their moments but haven’t been able to get it together for the full 80 minutes with the new halves combination struggling. Eventually Canberra will bounce back with a win but McDonald Jones Stadium isn’t an easy place to come to and on form this game seems closer than the market suggests.

Suggested Bet:  Knights +4.5 @1.90 (neds)

Eels vs Wests Tigers – CommBank Stadium

The Tigers produced their finest win for years in beating the Warriors in NZ last round. Meanwhile Parramatta conceded 30 in one half of footy, albeit to a side that seems unstoppable in Penrith.

Parramatta’s defence is still a concern and the Tigers didn’t have problems creating opportunities last week without Luai. I think they can find 4+ tries here.

Suggested Bet: Wests Tigers Total Tries Over 3.5 @ 1.70 (neds)

MULTI’S OF THE ROUND

Tom Trbojevic ATS / Reece Walsh ATS / Wests Tigers Total Tries over 3.5 @ $5.40 (neds)

Scott Drinkwater ATS / Jordan Riki ATS / Kai Pearce-Paul ATS @ $42.84 (neds)
