Our NRL betting tips for Round 4 cover every game with best bets, totals and predictions across the full weekend schedule.
Sea Eagles vs Roosters – 4 Pines Park
Roosters deserve favouritism but Manly coming off the bye could improve. The total is slightly on the high side but neither team’s defence has been reliable in the early rounds. Best to stay away from this one.
Suggested Bet: No bet.
Warriors vs Wests Tigers – Go Media Stadium
The Tigers have Luai out while Warriors have some big ins, most notably Luke Metcalf back from a long injury lay-off. On paper it looks a mismatch but the Tigers have showed me enough in the early rounds to suggest the line is about right. Since Warriors have been so good defensively and Luai being out hurts the Tigers attack I’d prefer to bank on Tigers not getting 3 converted tries in this one.
Suggested Bet: Tigers Total Points Under 17.5 Pts @ 1.91 (neds)
Broncos vs Dolphins – Suncorp Stadium
This game could go either way. Broncos had a great comeback victory v Melbourne last round but will they be able to go again or will this be a let down with Payne Haas out? Dolphins have Flegler and Molo back so their pack can match it with Brisbane. Some off field issues at Brisbane could be distracting too. Dolphins price has come right in to 2.20 and +3.5 so I don’t think they represent value anymore. I can’t find a bet here.
Suggested Bet: No bet.
Bulldogs vs Knights – Accor Stadium
Bulldogs defence has been strong in the early rounds but their attack still needs some work. Meanwhile Newcastle have Sharpe back but I still feel they don’t have many options in attack. Newcastle have scored a total of 2 points in the last two matches v Bulldogs and I feel they could struggle here but the Dogs aren’t the sort of side to blow teams away either. I like the Unders.
Suggested Bet: Under 47.5 Total Pts @ 1.90 (neds)
Panthers vs Eels – CommBank Stadium
Penrith have looked in sync in the early rounds while Parramatta have been very loose in defence. However, this game is at Commbank and Parramatta have faired well against Penrith in recent times. I think the line is probably where it should be and I can’t find value in this one.
Suggested Bet: No bet.
Cowboys vs Storm – Queensland Country Bank Stadium
Melbourne will be reeling after letting a 14 point lead slip in the Grand Final replay last week. North Queensland had a much needed win in the QLD derby v Titans. They still have a number of weaknesses that Melbourne can exploit but this line seems biggish in North QLD. In saying that the Cowboys defence can’t be trusted enough to avoid a blow out so there doesn’t appear to be much value here.
Suggested Bet: No bet.
Raiders vs Sharks – GIO Stadium
Canberra looked ok last week v Dogs in difficult conditions while the Sharks were terrible in losing to the Dolphins. The Raiders will be looking for revenge against the side that eliminated them from last year’s Premiership and I think they can get their revenge here, even without Josh Papalii. Canberra is never an easy place to come and Cronulla haven’t offered much in the last two games. I like the Raiders here.
Suggested Bet: Raiders H2H @ $1.87 (neds)
Titans vs Dragons – Cbus Super Stadium
A game many would consider an early spoon bowl. Very hard to pick a winner in these sort of games but I don’t see a blow out considering both sides should be desperate.
Suggested Bet: Either Team to win by Less than 12.5 @ 1.72.
MULTI’S OF THE ROUND
Wests Tigers Total Points Under 17.5 / Hudson Young ATS @ $5.63 (neds)
James Tedesco ATS / Isaiah Papali’i ATS / Raiders H2H @ $14.96 (neds)
