Lets take a look at potential VC & C options for Round 15.
VC Options
Nicho Hynes – Has a long history of mammoth scores against the Dragons, however he is not the Nicho of old this season so am slightly more wary. Averaging 70 for the year (which is still elite) and coming up against a makeshift edge against the Dragons, you can expect the familiar sight of Hynes putting Nikora over for a try. Plays the first game of the round, and I would be tempted to take anything above 80 considering its likely a free VC in the bye round. The Dragons are missing a few with injury as well as Holmes to Origin duties, while the Sharks are basically full strength.
Addin Fonua-Blake – Has the ability to cross the white line with regularity, so don’t mind AFB in the early game if you aren’t a Hynes owner. I don’t expect a pack of an ageing David Klemmer, Emre Guler, Hamish Stewart and Pasifiki Tonga to be able to contain this beast.
Haumole Olakau’atu – The Titans concede more points to back rowers than any other team in the NRL. Up against a poor (and understrength) Titans side, with Manly’s whole right edge fit has me excited over Ola’s prospects this week. DCE playing is huge for his output.
C Options
James Tedesco – Has no scores under 65 in the last 9 rounds, showing how elite his floor is. On top of this, he has found some tryscoring form of late, as shown through his 5RA of 97.4. Up against the Knights who are prone to defensive lapses to say the least, Teddy is your perfect balance of high floor and high upside.
Tom Trbojevic – I am still an owner and am considering one last hurrah on Tommy Turbo. The Titans are in the top 40% for points conceded to fullbacks in 2025, and are missing a few players through injury and Origin. Manly have the added bonus of keeping Daly Cherry-Evans as he missed selection for Origin, meaning they are more or less full strength.
