Lets take a look at potential VC & C options for Round 23.
VC Options
Nathan Cleary – Nathan Cleary has the goal kicking duties, which adds to his elite scoring. Newcastle are better than most think defensively though, so will need to fill the stats sheet to make it worthwhile taking him. This is a bit of a defensive play, as most will either VC or C Cleary (he is #1 for C and VC according to Supercoach Gold) I will be looking elsewhere though to try and make up some ground.
Tom Trbojevic – The Raiders have looked a bit off to me of late, so am backing Manly to at least be competitive and for Turbo to be involved in everything they throw at the competition leaders. Now back in his favoured position, he should get through more work and raise his scoring floor. One for the risk takers.
C Options
Jayden Campbell – Souths concede more Supercoach points than most teams in most positions, however I love the matchup this week. The Titans coming off a great performance against Penrith last week will be looking to this is a hugely winnable game. For extra incentive, the loser of this game likely also ends up with the wooden spoon. He is their playmaker, coming off a ton and kicks goals. What’s not to like?
Zac Lomax – Bit of a left field one here. The Cowboys concede more points to CTW than any team in the competition. The Eels have Moses playing, which is great for Lomax. He has the goal kicking, he has the work rate and he has the scoring ability. Currently sitting at less than 4% captained.
