Brisbane Broncos fullback Reece Walsh has set an ambitious goal for himself: to be recognised as the best player in the National Rugby League (NRL). The 22-year-old emphasises the importance of hard work and maintaining high standards, both personally and within his team, to achieve this aspiration.
Reflecting on his journey, Walsh finds it surreal to be in his current position, acknowledging the support of those around him who challenge and motivate him daily.
Since his NRL debut in 2021, Walsh has played 74 games for the Warriors and Broncos, scoring 34 tries and participating in five State of Origin matches for Queensland. Despite a challenging 2024 season, where the Broncos finished 12th after a grand final appearance the previous year, Walsh remains focused on personal and team development.
In response to external criticisms, Walsh has chosen to tighten his inner circle, valuing genuine relationships and staying true to his principles. He prioritises being a good father, a dedicated teammate, and someone open to constructive feedback.
As the 2025 season approaches, Walsh is committed to working diligently alongside his Broncos teammates, aiming for success and continuous improvement.
