NRL Round 7 SuperCoach: Buy - Hold - Sell

BUY – HOLD – SELL:

BUY:

Dylan Egan – Wow, what a third game. Egan spent time in the middle and edge and scored 73 in base power (in 79 mins) Only came off due to an elbow injury which has since been confirmed as precautionary. I am backing him to start again this week and get large minutes. With a BE of -55 and an average of 66, he will both make you cash and score well if you choose to play him in your 17. I know I will be if he is starting again.

David Fifita – Has bottomed out, is starting and is coming off a ton. Everything screams BUY! Don’t try to outthink the room on this one.

Hudson Young – Seems to be playing a bit of a different role in 2025, with him being heavily involved in attack. So far that is translating to huge Supercoach scoring. While he is unlikely to keep scoring a double every game, his numbers are good and he is a huge POD at 4% owned.

Ryan Papenhuyzen – Papenhuyzen has resumed goal kicking duties and the Melbourne Storm are flying. Available for $719,300 and averaging 93.2 to start the season, Paps is a very easy trade in for those looking for a fullback. Desirable fixtures to come include the Dolphins, Souths & Wests Tigers.

Joseph Tapine – 3RA of 95.3 – WOW. A real safe option because of his base output, and we know he can find the line. Safe points can’t be sniffed at this year in Supercoach, and I love the safety that the likes of Tapine offer your teams.

James Tedesco – Probably the best Supercoach player ever. Teddy is averaging 82.5 and hasn’t scored a try in 2025. He is averaging over 50 in tackles, busts and runs alone, before we even factor in any future tries, try assists, line breaks or line break assist etc. That scoring floor cannot be underestimated. Added bonus, he is unlikely to play origin and covers the major bye rounds. BUY!

HOLD:

Billy Smith – Out one week but has looked great for the Roosters. I expect somebody else in the backline drops out for him in Round 8. Buy yourself another week and hold this round.

Haumole Olakau’atu – Nursing an injury last week which severely reduced his output, yet somehow still managed to score 46. One of the true premium options at 2RF and he isn’t worth the trade in and out as you’ll want him again when fully fit.

Addin Fonua-Blake – Similar to Ola, had an injury last week, however has been named and worth holding due to him being a top 5 option at FRF this year.

Christian Tuipulotu – Only on the Hold list as we await further news. If confirmed out for more than 2 weeks, he becomes a sell.

Nicho Hynes – Has dropped bulk cash now and is still averaging 66.2 so worth holding until he comes good. I am not convinced the Sharks can continue with current structures so something will have to change soon, and Hynes could be the big beneficiary there.

SELL:

Jack Gosiewski – Broken arm and set to miss an extended period. Sell if you still own.

Gehamat Shibasaki – Has made his money, and now has a BE of 75. Upgrade to a gun, or sell to another cheapie and keep that cash generation going.

Jesse Arthars – Like Shibasaki, Arthars has done his job for owners. BE is 48 so you can hold one more week if you like the matchup, however I prefer a sale with some quality options in the BUY category in Round 7.
